The Dialysis Academy is a postgraduate course for young physicians working in the field of nephrology. Since 1999 Fresenius Medical Care, together with the universities of Ghent (Belgium) and Heidelberg (Germany) has been organizing the Academy which takes place once a year in Heidelberg or alternate in Ghent.

Approximately 60 - 80 participants from all over the world are offered a broad ranged program of 3 days containing recent aspects of general nephrology and dialysis presented by internationally recognized speakers.

The lectures are rounded up firstly with discussions of clinical cases presented by the participants themselves and talked over with the experts and secondly with the so-called Hands-On Trainings.

The target audience of the Dialysis Academy are trainees in nephrology.
